This stunning Northfield Artist Series mandolin has an Italian red spruce top and Northfield's "Variation 1" 5-bar bracing style.
Like all Northfield mandolins, the Artist Series models have a rich, warm, throaty voice that sounds "old" right out of the box. However, the Artist mandolins take that signature Northfield tone to the next level, offering more volume, more low end, and more complexity than you'll find in the lower models.
Above all, the Artist Series mandolins have an incredible resonance and presence that you can feel as much as hear. It's a quality that doesn't to come through in videos and sound clips, but when you have the mandolin in your hands you'll notice it immediately.

5-Bar Bracing
This Artist mandolin features Northfield's "Variation 1" 5-bar bracing system. This style of bracing is designed to produce a warmer, mellower tone with a richer low end.
While the 2-bar and 5-bar Artist mandolins each have their own personalities, we've found that the distinction between two designs is subtle. The 5-bar is a bit warmer and deeper while the 2-bar is slightly brighter and has a little more punch, but to our ears the tonal difference is more nuanced than some players might expect.
