Nechville Atlas Standard openback banjo with 12" rim and optional 25.5" short scale.
This is a great no-frills old time banjo that offers all of Nechville's ingenuity and craftsmanship in a more budget-friendly package.
This Atlas features a 12" rim, which can offer a bit more warmth and low end than the 11" version.
Walnut rim and neck. Flat ebony fingerboard.
Weighs 5.4 lbs.
Includes upgraded hard case.
This model features an optional 25.5" short scale. This is about 3.3% shorter than the standard 26-3/8" scale typically found on this model.
Some players prefer the slightly closer fret spacing and lower string tension offered by a short scale, but the difference is very subtle. In fact, we've found that many folks don't notice much of a difference either way!
Take the weight of the world off your shoulders. The Atlas is ultra-light (around six pounds), sounds great and is a joy to play.
Its design was a Nechville-Sagmoen collaboration and echoes the Ashborn Banjos of 1860. Modern Nechville innovations make the Atlas the most advanced traditional openback to date.
