Northfield "Big Mon" F-style mandolin with Adirondack spruce top.
The Big Mon's body is about 5mm wider at the widest point and a bit deeper in some spots. While it doesn't look a whole lot bigger, it offers a tone that tends to be a little warmer and fuller than Northfield's standard F5S models.

This mandolin features an Adirondack spruce top, which we feel offers slightly more power and projection than the Engelmann models. To our ears, the difference between the two tonewoods is subtle, but players looking for a little more volume and clarity might want to consider the Adirondack top.
