Adirondack Spruce & Flame Maple
1-1/8" Nut

Collings MF5 built in 2004. This model is Collings' top-of-the-line F-style mandolin and has all the bells and whistles!

Adirondack top with flame maple back/sides.

Ebony fingerboard and bridge. 1-1/8" nut.

Includes upgraded gold Waverly tuners and engraved James tailpiece. These upgrades would run about $700 by themselves. Original cast tailpiece will be included.

Substantial wear to top on treble side of fingerboard. It appears that a previous owner touched up this area with some lacquer to seal up the exposed parts of the top.

Has a number of other small dents and dings throughout top and headstock.  Back is fairly clean.

All issues are purely cosmetic. Mandolin is in great shape structurally and has no cracks, separations, etc.

Plays very well. Frets look almost new, with barely any noticeable divots and lots of material left. Given the amount of play wear on the rest of the mandolin, we're pretty sure this mandolin was refretted not long before it came into our shop.

Beautiful tone. This mandolin has been played a lot, which we're sure contributes to its big, open voice. Lots of power, great chop, but also warm and sweet.

This new price of this mandolin would be $8,440 (including the upgraded hardware).

Includes original TKL Collings case in very good condition.
